Gripmode exists because we lived the problem. We ran martial arts schools, struggled with the same broken tools, and decided to build something better.
The Founding Story
We were running our own BJJ schools and juggling two different software platforms just to cover the basics. Scheduling lived in one tool, billing in another — and neither of them actually understood how a martial arts school works. Both were packed with features designed for generic gyms or large fitness chains: things we never needed, buried under menus that made the simplest tasks unnecessarily complicated.
The frustration wasn't just ours. Every school owner we talked to had the same story: paying for software they half-used, spending hours on admin that should take minutes, and never quite feeling like the tools were built for them.
In December 2025, we decided to stop complaining and build a solution — initially just for our own locations. Within weeks, we showed it to a few people in our network. The response surprised us. School owners immediately saw themselves in it, and started asking how they could get access. That's when we realized Gripmode wasn't just a private tool — it was something the whole community needed.
So we opened it up. Built for BJJ, designed for simplicity, priced for independent operators.

Graduated in Communication (Journalism) in 2007. Spent years at one of the world's leading PR agencies before founding his own advertising agency in 2012, which he ran for 14 years. Has trained BJJ since 2011 and became a school owner in 2024 — the moment the operational frustration became impossible to ignore.

Growth & Operations
Marketing and sales professional with deep roots in the martial arts world. Has been running BJJ and Muay Thai schools since 2014 — multiple locations in Brazil and now in the US. Experienced black belt who has worked with kids and adults throughout his career. Brings the operator perspective that keeps Gripmode grounded in reality.
